Back in 1959, where it all began ...
Roger Gareau, only 22 years old, decided to buy a garage for $ 5000. At the time, it was a great investment given the amount of money required to purchase this building.
In 1961 he obtained the franchise Renault. His humble garage becomes his first car sales concession. A few years later, in 1967, joined by his brother Yvon Gareau. At its beginning, Yvon served as an attendant and salesman.
From 1961 to 1974, selling a range of different car models, but especially Chevrolet cars, Roger and Yvon decided to buy Abitibi Motor Sales. It is therefore in 1975 that they became the proud owners of a Chevrolet Oldsmobile Cadillac concession.
Seeing the growing success of their company, building a 33 000 square feet concession on a 500 000 square feet building ground . Its showroom can now display up to 15 vehicles. Gareau Auto is proud to count among them more than 60 employees.
Gareau Auto is a family business: Roger Gareau, founder, Yvon Gareau, President, and Pascal Gareau, son of Yvon, who joined the team in 1991 and is now the vice-President.
